Alba House is a very modern and comfortable house with large airy rooms. It has been put together with an eye for quality and makes the most of its elevated position and excellent views. The entrance on Perhaver Park gives the impression of a neat modern single story house with pleasant front garden and parking. On entering it becomes clear that there is much more to it. There is a second floor below with bedrooms, a bathroom and access onto a lawned garden and large south facing patio area. The upper floor has three very large open plan living spaces with a glazed, decked balcony stretching the full length of the back of the house. A shower room and a king sized bedroom completes the accommodation. Upstairs there are quality pale oak floors and laminates, wood burners and sea views from almost every window. A fine and comfortable house within easy reach of the beach and coastal path. Alba House benefits from having a completely separate self contained studio at one end of the building. This is designed to be entirely separate from the main house, but by opening a dividing panel on the decked balcony, can be arranged to extend the accommodation of the house to sleep 8 if required. There is a driveway with parking for one car and it is possible to park on the quiet road outside the house.

The house is set back from the road by a small front garden, to the side beyond the parking area a (gated) path leads down to the garden at the rear. The garden has lawn and patio space, a barbeque area and a tributary of the busy stream that is such a feature of Gorran Haven beach. The stream is screened by a rockery, but small children should be supervised at all times. The garden is very pleasantly screened from view by bamboo at the sides.

The front door opens onto a hallway and you immediately become aware of the brightly lit, white, open plan living spaceand the fabulous views of the hills and sea.
The hallway has doors leading to a Shower room with quality shower cabinet, sink and WC. Double bedroom with kingsize divan bed, wardrobe and window facing the front of the house.

The sitting room is very spacious and is both comfortable and elegant. It has a large corner sofa seating six, pale oak floors and a 42 inch plasma TV (with full sky package) and DVD. At one end of the room there is a modern - very efficient – wood burner and some large indoor plants. The rear wall running the length of this floor is dominated by large south facing rear windows which looks out across the valley below and to the sea beyond. Patio doors open onto the glazed, decked balcony that also runs the length of the house. It's a calming and comfortable space to relax in.

The family room is almost open plan from the sitting room and is approached through an archway which in turn leads into the very large kitchen beyond. Here there is comfortable seating with great views an ideal place to read or to socialise with those in the kitchen! A woodburner warms this space on the occasional chilly evening.

The kitchen has a wooden table and chairs for 6 people and though clearly designed for serious cooking, is also an extension of comfortable living space. White fitted units, polished granite worktops, induction hob - double fan oven, fridge freezer and microwave. There is a walk in Pantry with ample storage space. There is an area for coats, walking boots etc..through a separate door from the kitchen, leading to an external door which opens onto the parking area (useful for unloading groceries). From the kitchen, patio doors open onto a large area of south facing balcony, the views are wonderful, over the village towards the sea. This really is another outside room when the weather is fine.. There is a plentiful supply of china, cutlery plus all the usual glasses, pans and utensils.

Patio doors open from the kitchen, family room and the sitting room onto the decked balcony which has an outside dining table seating six, sun loungers and squashy, oversize outdoor bean bags, great for sunbathing. The balcony is sheltered from view by screens at the sides and is hardly overlooked by neighboring properties, whilst having an glorious elevated view out across the village and the bay.

The Main bedroom has a superkingsize bed, quality mirrored wardrobes and patio doors opening onto a paved area outside with table and chairs, with the garden extending beyond. The room has a pleasant light airy feel with Venetian shutters and silk curtains.

The twin bedroom has wood framed beds, chest of drawers and a window onto the garden.
|
|
|
|
The Master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom whilst the large Family bathroom (between the bedrooms) has large bathtub, washbasin and WC.

Downstairs: At the rear of the family room a flight of stairs leads to the ground floor, where there are two more bedrooms, the family bathroom and a door leading to the garden.

No formal services are provided, but serviced washing can be arranged. Clean bathroom towels and all bed linen are provided at the start of your stay.

Alba is a modern house in Perhaver Park, a quiet road of south-facing modern houses above the older village of Gorran Haven. Alba is approached from the quiet road in front of the house, via it’s own driveway & parking space. stream flows along the side of the house - at a lower level - which can be heard from the deck; It is a truly peaceful and tranquil location.
